1. Initial Conditions – Sludge water from production
The client’s manufacturing process generates process water containing high concentrations of fine inorganic particles. This sludge water exhibits variable density and characteristics that prevent direct discharge or simple recycling. A solution was required to enable stable processing of 4 m³/h of this sludge water, including controlled chemical dosing and effective separation.
2. Solution – Technology supplied by ENVITES
Based on the operational requirements, a fully automated system was designed with the following key components:
• A 3.5 m³ homogenization tank for mixing and equalizing sludge concentration prior to separation.
• Mixing and pumping system – the sludge is actively mixed and then pumped to the next stage.
• Flocculant preparation and dosing system, including a storage tank, mixer, and dosing pumps. The dosing is controlled based on flow rate and sludge water quality.
• K470/15 filter press – ensures effective separation of water and solids, producing a compact sludge cake.
3. Results
• Significant reduction in the volume of wastewater requiring disposal.
• Stable operation despite fluctuating feed water quality, enabled by homogenization and controlled flocculant dosing.
• Production of high-solids sludge cake suitable for transport and environmentally responsible disposal.
• Low operational and maintenance requirements – the system is designed for automated operation.
4. Conclusion
The ENVITES system provided the client with a flexible and efficient solution for treating demanding sludge water. Through precise chemical dosing, effective thickening, and modern dewatering technology, the facility achieved improved operational efficiency, reduced environmental impact, and optimized sludge disposal costs.
